Bangtao Beach is a long stretch of beautiful sand along the northwest coast of Phuket Island. The beach never feels crowded as it is lined with tall casuarina trees that help to preserve a natural feel to the surroundings, as well as providing some handy shade. The peaceful atmosphere is also helped by the fact that unlike most beaches on Phuket, Bangtao does not have a public road running alongside ensuring that it remains calmer than other popular west coast beaches on the island. Most of the accommodation is found in the central part of the beach with a good selection of hotels ranging from luxury 5-star resorts to more modest bungalows and guesthouses to choose from.
