Chalong Beach, Phuket is encompassed by Chalong Bay and is on the East coast of Phuket Island. It consists of a narrow, small strip of beach that is not very suitable for swimming and is affected by mud. Normally there are longtail and speedboats moored here. The beach road has many multi cuisine, inexpensive restaurants lined along it, plus some good budget hotels and guesthouses, and the odd shop. Chalong Bay has a 750 metere long jetty pier which stretches out into the sea. From the pier many varied boats trips leave including departures to fabulous nearby islands such as Phi Phi, Racha and Coral, as well as activity excursions like snorkeling, scuba diving and deep sea fishing.
