Mai Khao Beach

Mai Khao Beach is around 10 kilometres long and one of the longest beaches of Phuket. Some people also call it the Airport or Sanambin Beach. It is part of Sirinat National Park so it fairly uncommercial and less developed than others on the island. Here visitors can walk for miles, enjoying the sunshine and the sounds of the waves. The beach slopes sharply, so this is a deep water beach that is affected by strong currents and waves so great caution needs to be taken in regard swimming. It an be very dangerous and tourists have drown here. The far north sector is known as Hat Sai Khao and has tall Casuarina green trees set fairly thickly along it.
