If you stay in the northern part of Phuket and wish to travel to the eastside islands like Koh Yao Noi also known as Little Long Island or Koh Yao Yai also known as Big Long Island or Koh Naka, then Bang Rong Pier which is set on the north east coast of Phuket is the place where you can board a taxi boat or sometimes a speed boat to them Not too far from the pier is Bang Rong Agricultural Conservation Tourist Center where travellers can learn about the mangrove ecology by either trekking or kayaking though the rich mangrove forest. Moreover, there are also some local restaurants that offer fresh seafood cooked in a native Thai style. From the Heroin’s Monument roundabout, Bang Rong Pier is around 10 km, just a 15 – 20 minute car journey.
