Laem Phrom Thep
Ref No. 332 | Updated: December 27, 2012
Found on the southernmost point of the island just a short drive up the hill from Rawai and Nai Harn, Laem Phrom Thep is Phuket’s most popular viewpoint. From here you can look out over Kaew Noi and Kaew Yai islands, Nai Harn Beach, and out over the shimmering Andaman Sea. The headland leads down to the ocean, and visitors can enjoy an adventurous walk down to the cape’s tip via a small path. At the top of the cape is a shrine to Brahma, known is Thai as ‘Phra Phrom’, which is surrounded by over a hundred different-sized wooden elephants. Nearby is a lighthouse that was built to celebrate King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s Golden Jubilee.
