Pricing varies across the island with the west coast traditionally being higher than the east although this trend is changing with the introduction of high end villas for rental in the eastern coastal areas in recent years. Lower cost accommodation suitable for budget travellers can normally be found in the west coast towns of Kata, Karon and Patong.

Prices also vary according to the season and some great bargains can be had during the rainy season when quite often there can be weeks of no rain at all.
