Pharmacies can be found in all areas of Phuket including some international branded franchises.
Most drugs and antibiotics do not require a doctor’s prescription and many visitors are surprised by how inexpensive medication is in Thailand.
Many pharmacists will dispense advice on brands and dosage of medications but avoiding guidance or treatment by a doctor is a personal choice.
Several pharmacies focus on vitamins, natural and homeopathic supplies while others include medical equipment such as wheelchairs, hospital beds, walkers and other hard to find products.
Many internationally known medications may be known by a different name in Thailand and many pharmacies will have access to a database to locate the Thai names and availability.
