Review of Cafe Java@Rawai Beach
Chicken satay was really nice with the dipping peanut sauce, beef stroganoff with pasta, was ok the strips of beef could have been more tender. The highlight was the orange crepe suzette it was devine! Staff were lovely and pleasant.
Review of Le Versace Restaurant
Lucky the rain held off so we could have a few drinks on the terrace, watching the sunset which turned out to be a damp squid! and the toing and goings of Patong, very nice. Recommend the sea bass with herbs, and gratin potatoes, dessert was prefect lemon tart, with a tort sorbet. Wine was costly 2000 baht for a sauvignon blanc, but wine is expensive due to high taxes, Alain the helpful French chef explained to us. Le Versace is tucked away up a steep hill, up a small road, best to check out the location as tuk tuk drivers seem not to know it or tired to drive us somewhere else! The decor and plates is different. It was not our taste but the food was certainly to our taste.
Review of The Cove Phuket Restaurant
Kicked off by sharing a basket of mixed tempura seafood, the batter was light and crisp. Mains I had the parma and rocket, thin base pizza, great and my wife had bbq skewered chicken, the portion size was ideal for her, as she is not a big eater. We picked a mid priced wine Sauvignon Blanc around 1600 baht to go with our meal, there were cheaper and more expensive wines on the menu but we were pleased with our choice. So nice to just dine so close to the beach and the owners were so friendly and charming.
Review of The Siam Supper Club
Our Australian tenderloin steaks were large, tender and cooked as we requested, and our beef carpaccio sprinkled with parmesan and olive oil was very enjoyable to share. Really clean and well decorated with dark wood and dim lighting but bright enough to see each other and read the menu. It was pretty busy, we think due to a live jazz band that was playing, not sure if a one off or a regular event. Sort of a Amercian experince in Thailand, although they did have a few Thai food items on the menu for those wanting to eat native.
Just follow the music to find one of the many live music venues in Phuket.
Visitors might want to spend an evening at a local bar listening to Thai rock and roll bands that can be quite good. Several bars invite talented expats to perform and it’s a great evening spent taking in some of the local talent on the island.
Phuket Town is home to several very popular Thai nightclubs with live nightly entertainment. Patrons can bring their own bottle and corkage is very reasonable. These venues start late and stay open late and can be lots of fun.
