Two Black Sheep Restaurant & Bar

Owned by a fun Aussie couple (he’s a musician, she’s a chef), this old-school pub is a great find. It has good grub and live music nightly. From 8pm to 10pm there’s an acoustic set, then Chilli Jam, the house band, gets up and rocks till the last call. And it bans bar girls, which keeps everything at a PG (Parental Guidance) level.

The Two Black Sheep Bar and Restaurant has been one of the most popular places in Patong for over 8 years.

The award winning kitchen is open from 9am for Breakfast with the full dinner menu served until 10pm. A wide selection of late night snacks are available from 10pm until 2am when the bar closes.

The Two Black Sheep is one of the premier live music venues in Patong. Every night features light acoustic dinner music from around 8pm and then our awesome house band Chilli Jam rocks the night away from 10pm playing a wide variety of music from the 60s through to today. Chilli Jam has been performing at the Two Black Sheep now for several years and once you hear them you will understand why they are considered by many as the best house band in Patong.

Sunday night is Reggae / Blues night at the Two Black Sheep featuring one of Phuket’s hottest bands Ali & The Medicine Men. Trust us when we say you can’t miss Sunday night’s here.

The Two Black Sheep is one of the few ‘family friendly’ bars in Patong. Kids are very welcome and if you ask we will happily give them free ice-cream to help keep them entertained while you enjoy a few drinks and listen to the great music.

The venue is also free from the ‘hassles’ of the other bars in Patong. Even if you’re a single guy you can come and enjoy a beer here without being constantly harassed.

Live sport is also heavily featured in the bar with 4 big screen TVs covering all of the current action be it Soccer, Rugby, Cricket, AFL, League, Tennis, Golf, F1, A1, Moto GP and anything else that happens to be on. If we can get a live feed of the cockroach races from Darwin we will broadcast that as well.

Being typical Aussies that love people, eating/drinking, music and having a good time, we could not believe our good luck when we discovered the Two Black Sheep Pub & Restaurant in Patong! Without doubt, the best pub/bar we have been to in Phuket on 3 visits to this amazing place.

Aussie hosts, John & Debra & Rob were so hospitable and friendly and made us feel at home right away. The atmosphere is awesome – great people, great staff and amazing live music every night. Owner John is an accomplished Aussie muso himself, and you can just feel the laid back, good-time friendly vibes in this pub as soon as you walk in. John plays a few sets early in the evening and then the Thai band kicks in from about 10:00pm each night. They were absolutely fantastic, and the female singer (who doesnt start until around 11:00pm or so) is brilliant. The whole place rocks and every night we were there people were just all mingling together, singing, dancing and having a great time.

The staff were all fantastic – no bar girls or touts – just friendly, hard working Thais who quite obviously have picked up the Aussie humour generated by the management and many of the patrons.

Food and drink prices were very reasonable and the food was actually really good. Happy “hour” goes from about 10:00am to about 10:00pm (that’s Thai time for you!).

What was also good was that Two Black Sheep isn’t just an “Aussie” pub – it struck the right balance between local Thais, Aussies and other Western tourists, with the result being an ecclectic, fun, friendly and comfortable party atmosphere.

The operators of this bar should be very proud of what they have created. My hubby and I can’t wait to get back to Phuket and pay all the great people at the Two Black Sheep another visit.
