Bang Pae Seafood Restaurant is located at the edge of mangrove forest in Paklok. From the Heroines Monument Traffic Roundabout take the turning towards Ao Por, after around 9 km there is a sign on the right for this small restaurant. It is surrounded by lots of shady trees over looks the water and mangroves. It serves inexpensive fresh seafood and regional Thai dishes. Most dishes are quite local food such as Buea Tod, Miang Pla Kra Pong, stir fried glass noodle with Pak Mieng, deep fried mackerel with fish sauce as well as dried shrimp mixed with shrimp paste that can be served with fresh and steamed vegetables. The decor and layout is simple, but the views are scenic. This restaurant shuts fairly early at around 8pm and being by water insect repellent is recommended.

  1. Thailand is known for its seafood and I believe Bang Pae does it justice. Everything on the menu is fresh and scrumptious. Their shrimp was excellent and was perfect in every way, as well as their crabs which were massive. The place itself is a little hard to find, but that itself added to the experience while eating. It had a great feel to it since it’s rather secluded and offered some peace and tranquility.

  2. I went there with my family on Public Holiday, a lot of many customers. It’s very busy. We order about 4-5 dishes, have to wait for long time but we understood there are many queue. Taste of foods not too bad and reasonable price. Nice view.

  3. Really tasty and fresh seafood cooked properly. Real Thai style, not like the places that cater just for tourists. Of course its a bit out of the way but not too bad if you have transport. Very peaceful spot looking out across the mangroves on the east coast. Drop by if you get the chance, you will not be disappointed.

  4. Has been renovated since my last visit, much improved, it has some shade but still no air con. The food was good and cheap for seafood. Recommend their spicy seafood soup and steams fish with herbs, but bones. The Mango grove setting is nice but is off set by mosquitoes, but there were only a few and not very bothersome as staff gave us some insect repellent. Tip ask for non or little spicy when ordering as the food is fairly spicy.

  5. We ordered a lot of thai food for 4 of us such as Sour Soup with Fish, Steamed Fish Curry in a Banana Leaf and Fried Vegetable. We all think food taste here was not really Thai and too mild. We expected something authentic thai strong and spicy. Anyway there are some good things about this place like very nice view of the sea, friendly service staffs and reasonable prices.

  6. I and my friends just went there last Sunday. They just done the renovation. The location is nice and it is located just next to the mangrove, so view was outstanding. The wind blows while we were having amazing seafood. Most or almost all items in their menu are Thai cuisine and Seafood. Best time to be there is during daytime cos they are open only till late afternoon.

  7. Food is so so for me. I ordered fish in curry, spicy shrimp salad, green curry with chicken and a few more things. Quite quick service but everything was cold! so we ate just a bit. However, I love the atmosphere, it sets in the quiet area, beside the water and shady trees which is very nice and relax. Price is fine, 5 of us..we paid 1,300 Baht.
