  1. Capannina is an Italian owned and managed restaurant that has been serving delicious and authentic home-cooked Italian cuisine and scrumptious pizzas in Kata for over a decade. The portions are very generous, especially the pizzas which are huge, and very reasonably priced. Capannina is located in The Beach Centre, just off New Kata Road between Patak and Kata roads.

  2. The 4 of us shared a family pizza it was enormous! we also ordered a salad so had something healthy!, washed down with a few heineken beers. Good food and drink, nice staff, we all had a lovely time.

  3. My husband and I love Italian food that’s why we love to eat at this restaurant. Their rocket Pizza was great and homemade spaghetti with crab was wonderful. They have a variety of wines, their service was quick and their staff were friendly.

  4. Amazing Italian food. Great homemade pasta. We loved the 4 Formaggi sauce. Also the prociutto was excellent! Decent pricing, great staff! My daughter 10 years old also love pasta here.

  5. They are certainly passionate about serving seriously good, food here. We kicked off with raw beef carpaccio. the beef was thin and tender and almost melted in our mouths, for main we had homemade spaghetti with crab and a parma ham and rocket pizza. We were well and truly stuffed by the time we had finished, the portions are really generous. We had an Italian bottle of red to gho with our meal, suggested by our waiter, annoyingly I have forgotten what it was, as it was smooth and fruity and did not break the bank in regard to price.

  6. Great to be able to see our pizzas being prepared for the wood oven in the open style kitchen, the pizzas were huge and the mozzarella, ham, and mushroom topping was delicious and had real taste. They had a good wine list, but we are no wine snobs and were well happy with the house white.

  7. Now its low season not so many people. Good for us we dont have to wait for table.

  8. Look for the restaurant with the big crowd. That will Capannina. They’ve expanded but pizzas are still the best in Kata. Be prepared to wait.

  9. Best thing about our visit here was finding a table right away. Happy we tried this place after several attempts. Yes, the pizzas are very good!

  10. In you are in the Kata area make sure and try the pizzas here. An institution known for putting out excellent pizza.
If you go at dinner time it might be crowded and the wait is unbearable but in the end very well worth it. You can also call ahead and place your order and usually is ready by the time you get there.

  11. Well what can I say…. Being italian and to find a restaurant that dare I say cooks just as or even better than mamma is what I thought impossible! It is possibly the best food I’ve ever tasted and I’ve eaten in very nice London restaurants! But most of all the owners are unique so welcoming and fun with such passion makes the whole experience even more amazing!! I would go back to Thailand just for that restaurant

  12. The place for great pizza in Kata. If you live in the area call ahead for takeaway as it gets really crowded and the waitstaff struggle.
Some other good choices is the fried aubergine with tomato mozzarella and parmesan and the arugula salad with parmesan.
Don’t remember when it opened but has been around for many years and very popular.
