Review of Bluefin Tavern

I was back in Kata Beach on the 5 Apr 2015, my wife and I went to the Bluefin Tavern, however it was not open, was informed by residents in the area it was not sure if they are open. We never went back, such a shame the food, drinks and great company was always in demand. Sorry we did not connect.

Review of Thai Taco

Local simple style mainly Mexican place we found wandering around just off the Patong Beach Rd, tucked in a small side road. Loved the chicken nachos, tacos and guacamole. The menu also had American stuff like burgers and hot dogs and a few Thai dishes but we enjoyed eating Mexican we were tired of Thai and can eat burgers almost anywhere. Also the staff were friendly and service minded.

Review of Harry’s Steakhouse @Karon

Had a good time and food here. I went for the beef tenderloin that came with a pepper sauce and chunky, wedge fries on the side. The kids shared a beef tenderloin pizza would you believe!, while the missus settled for salmon that was served with creamy mash and a light sauce. As the kids finished all their pizza we allowed them as a treat to have a chocolate mousse. I had a taste, it was grand, strong tasting for the kids but being chocolate, surprise, surprise they managed to eat them all up. Prices were mid range, and ok considering the quality of all our dishes.

Review of La Bodega Tapas Bar

Had a great time here. We spent the evening eating Spanish tapas while downing a few jugs of fruity Sangria. Loved the honey red wine chorizo, dipping their fresh crusty tasty bread into it was heaven, the cheese and spinach balls were also excellent, although they looked boring when served just brown round balls but they were so tasty when we ate them. Not expensive, for what we had. The waitress spoke good English and shared a few fun comments with us. No toilets on site but could use the Irish Times Pub toilets, which is almost opposite.

Restaurateurs around the world have attempted to recreate true Mexican food and Phuket is no exception. Some chefs have come close to succeeding while others are still trying.

Nevertheless tacos, enchiladas, fajitas always taste better followed by a cold Mexican beer or a large Margarita on the rocks. BuenProvecho!
