Peang Prai Restaurant

Thalang, North Phuket

Encircle by lush green natural surrounding, only 200 metres from the Bang Pae Waterfall is the family run Peang Prai Restaurant. It is about 20 minutes driving North (heading towards the airport) from Phuket Heroines Monument Traffic Roundabout. Look out and follow the signs for the Khao Phra Thaeo National Park and Gibbon Rehabilitation Centre, the restaurant is located just before the start of Khao Phra Thaeo National Park. It consists of a 2 storey detached pavilion style wooden structure and serves great authentic local Thai dishes and fresh seafood that spicy levels can be ordered to personal taste.

  1. This restaurant is located near Bang Pae waterfall in Paklok. I have been here once with friend long time ago and just had a chance to been there again last week. I remember that food was very good at the 1st time, so decided to dropped here for dinner. We were not disappointed, many new local menus like mangosteen!! I love it :-) Staff is very friendly, all food that the waiter recommend was very good, we ordered fried pork with lemongrass, fish soup with local herb, banana blossom in coconut milk..hmm all great! I love the atmosphere too, as the above said surrounded by jungle so you can hear the waterfall, also gibbon shouting:-)

  2. Went to Peang Prai for the second time yesterday. Great Thai food at reasonable prices and I have to say pretty good service. The setting is lovely, overlooking a lake and surrounded by jungle (its a good idea to bring some mosquito repellant). Seems to get busy at lunch times on the weekends but other times I think would be fine. Just wish I could find more restaurants like this.

  3. Wish we could keep this a secret and all to ourselves. This is an excellent place to get away from the hectic beach scene and eat on a beautiful lake with forest views. Seafood choices, vegetarian fare and other classic Thai dishes can be found here. You might even spot a wild Gibbon monkey in the trees.
