Phuket View Restaurant

Phuket View is another restaurant you must add to your list of ‘Dining with a View while in Phuket’. This dining venue sits since almost twenty years on top of Khao Rang Hill, one of the highest hills in Phuket Town. A massive terrace offers a unique panorama of southern Phuket including the city at your feet, Chalong Bay and its islands on one side and Kata Bay on the other side. You will easily spot the Giant Buddha on top of its mountain, and if your eyes  are good, you might even spot the tiny Panwa view point in the far. And if like me you drive around Phuket almost every day, you’ll realize that every building takes a new dimension and it’s a fun game to orientate yourself from the top.

Once you are done enjoying the captivating views, you will be ready to select from their large and well illustrated menu. If you are a bit familiar with Thai food you will find here all the typical Thai dishes.

Nothing really surprising to try here, but food was better than we expected. A dish you should really try is called Pla Dook Foo: Crispy deep fried shredded cat fish with a sour mango salad, one of my long time favourites. To go with this, a whole fish is soya sauce, some Chinese kale in oyster sauce and a Hor Mok Omelet which is an interesting variation of the Hor Mok Talay.

Overall, it was really good, a bit more expensive than your usual local Thai restaurant, but view comes with a price. As we came to enjoy the sunset, there very few customers as people strangely tend to come here late, maybe because the place is known as a romantic hideaway for secret couples.

A backdrop of palms and distant Phuket City View, our restaurant serves “the real deal” with experienced cooks. You will find out that we have many things to offer, even if what you want is not on the menu we will try to accommodate as far as possible.

We provide high standard of food quality with strong emphasis on hygiene. Although a large section of our menu is concentrated on sea food, there is a balance of variety with an awareness of nutrition.
