Central Festival Phuket

Phuket Town, Phuket Town & Central

Large department store & mall.

  1. Spent over 5 hours here shopping and eating. They had a show, while we were there of new Mercedes cars in the basement, which we could sit in and dream about buying. Here there was something for the whole family to enjoy including a cinema, food hall, and a spa

  2. The mall has everything that you’re looking for such as clothing stores, restaurants, coffee shops, supermarket, cinema, cell phone stores, etc. I mostly go there for shopping, dining and watch movies. It’s well worth a visit on weekdays that are less busy times. However, there are limited parking spaces especially on the weekends. Free parking fee for the first 3 hours and 30 baht/hour for the next hour. Good location, just a few distance from Phuket town on the way to Patong Beach.

  3. Great place for dining and going shopping. Has a lot of brand shops that have special promotion price. My family can do sevaral activities such as doing spa treatment, banking, watching movies, dining Japanese and international food and shopping clothing. Near Phuket Town, but the nearby road is currently constructing so it made a bad traffic.

  4. What a nightmare trying to actually get in. Massive traffic on every side. Must have been an hour to travel a few blocks to reach the parking centre. Then another 30 minutes to find a space! Once inside it is nice but not worth the effort.

  5. I do most of my food shopping here. The Central Food Market has a good range of products including Waitrose frozen and grocery items. They have a good range of cheeses here as well. I go there week days around 11am, then it not too busy and easy to park. The park car is in the basement so I have to take my shopping trolley into the lift which can be a pain sometimes. There is also a Marks & Spencers in the dept store, food is expensive there but I can not resist buying the odd pack of soft sultana cookies there.

  6. I always enjoy shopping there especially when they have special promotions and discounts! Go there a bit earlier than others around 10.30-11.00am, then you won’t be annoyed about car parking space and traffic. This is just my favourite time anyway and it may not suite others as some shops or offices aren’t open properly. To get there later than the said time, I usually park my car at the Homework, the opposite sister mall then take the pedestrian overpass to the Central. There is a narrow shortcut behind the Homework to return to the town!

  7. Avoid this place on the weekends! Maybe one day they will get their act together and make it more welcoming by easing the traffic jams.

  8. Lots of shops but many were the same brand names back home. Price wise clothes were not much cheaper but some stores had 40% off sales and we got 7% VAT refund at the airport customs. Not being Thai slim I was able to find some clothes that would fit me unlike most of the market clothes stall in Patong that seem to sell mainly small sizes. The cinema was good saw Captain Philips in a huge size cinema, we sat in the 2 seater sofa seats which were only slightly more than 2 normal seats. Overall Central Festival was worth a visit but lacks a wow factor.

  9. Very impressive mall with everything imaginable. Packed to the rafters the other night, I’m guessing tourists. Plenty of restaurants to choose from.

  10. I went for a massage at the Sino Spa while the wife went shopping. My oil massage was very calming and relaxing but the spa itself was disappointing with small private cubicles separated by cheap curtains. There were also no shower facilities. Afterwards we met up in Star Bucks for a drink and a cake. My wife had brought some silk items form the Jim Thompson Shop and liked shopping in this mall, but she felt it was a shame there were so many big brand shops and a pity not more local shops.

  11. A big shopping complex in Phuket town, very crowded especially the weekend and quite difficult to find a car parking space. It’s good for me that Central Festival has the bank zone. No need to drive around to pay my bills.

  12. My wife & I got there a bit earlier than others last weekend, without doubt we hereby didn’t have to play musical chairs for parking space! We went to shop for some good quality kitchenware like pot and pan as I knew there are a wide choice of branded items there and they often have special discounts when paying with Central Credit Card. Central did have what we wanted; Tefal ceramic control induction pan and sauce pot plus another Meyer hard anodised stock pot. They offered additional 20% discount from the discounted price on labels…Wow worth coming. One thing I must complain about is the cashier spent over half an hour to complete our purchase. They looked nervous and the more they were slow the longer queue… no explanation why but we left after our transaction was complete.

  13. Spent over 4 hours here. There were many shops, a pity mostly big brand names but they do have small local market type stalls on some walk ways selling souvenirs and t shirts. Plenty of coffee and eating outlets for a drink and a short sit down and rest. Well worth a visit.
