Lady Pie Bakery and Restaurant

Lady Pie was started by Susan Usher in early 2004 in Phuket from humble beginnings after sailing from Australia to Phuket. Susan started making Aussie pies to satisfy her own, husband Harry’s and the lads from Ao Chalong Yacht Club’s desires for real pies.

This led to the formation of a home based cottage industry which was washed into the sea by the December 2004 tsunami. Being the Aussie battler she is, Susan was soon back into production with 2 staff again and supplying quite a few boats passing through Phuket. In December 2005 she had moved into new premises in Cherng Talay as a fully Thai registered company.

Continued growth in 2006 and early 2007 resulted in extension of the premises into a factory certified by the Thai FDA, with an adjoining cafe/pie shop, by November 2007.

Now a regular stream of customers come to sample Lady Pie products at the pie shop in Cherng Talay. This is supplemented by a wide range of wholesale customers which includes many supermarkets, hotels, restaurants and bars throughout Thailand. In addition to this Lady Pie sent 8,500 scrum pies to the 2011 Hong Kong Rugby Sevens and is repeating this for 2012.

All of this would not have been possible without the loyal staff at Lady Pie who, while specialising in gourmet Aussie pies and other pastry products, have proved they can make any food product to an extremely high standard.

Lady Pie has been a member of the Australian Thailand Chamber of Commerce (AustCham Thailand) since 2007.
