Khao Lak : Snorkelling
The best snorkelling in Phuket is away from the popular beaches and during the months of November through June when the water is calmer and clearer.
Many beach hotels provide masks, snorkels and fins for a fun day on the water. Beach operators found along Patong, Kata and Karon rent the necessary equipment for snorkelling.
Paradise and Freedom beaches, accessible by long-tail speedboat from Patong, is a popular area for snorkellers. The area between Koh Pu and Kata Beach is one of the best snorkeling spots that you can get to without a boat. Other beaches with good reefs include: Kata Noi and Laem Singh.
Many boat tours that leave the Rawai dock include snorkelling trips to offshore reefs and islands, such as Coral Island and Phi Phi Island.
