Koh Yao Noi : Water Skiing
November through April is the ideal time to go water skiing off the beaches of Phuket. The dry season means calmer waters and little to no chop. Speedboat operators can be found on the beaches of Patong, Karon, Kata and others around the island. The operators provide skis, wake-boards and other equipment as well as instructors for beginners.
Many hotel concierges and tour operators can make arrangements for a day out on the water but keep in mind that it can be a pricey adventure.
Another outdoor activity that is becoming popular in Phuket is cableways water skiing. Skiers glide across the water by cable wire on a fresh water lake.
