  1. The Blue Elephant Cookery School is an ideal place to learn how to cook authentic Royal Thai Cuisine, that the Blue Elephant is world-famous for. The cooking school is located in purpose-built facilities in the grounds of the Governor's Mansion, a stunning example of Sino-Portuguese architecture that has been restored to its former glory. The cooking school provides a wide range of training, with classes available for beginners as well as experienced chefs. Private classes are also available.

  2. We attended the cooking class at Blue Elephant Cooking School. It was enjoyable, we went with chef to the local market which was our first time. I was so excited. The class took about 4 hours and we have tried to cook several Thai menus. I was surprised as its taste great and the food served us for lunch at the dining room. We really had a great time there!!

  3. Chose to attend the morning rather than the afternoon class as it included a trip and tour of the local market which was fun. the morning session was in English and lasted for around 4 hours, a reasonable start time 9.30. We learnt how to make and cook Tom Yam Koong, Soom Tum and a chicken Green curry. The facilities are excellent cost just over 3,000 baht. Tip book in advance, don’t just turn up as classes vary and not always run eveyday or are full.

  4. It was a really nice class to join. I truly enjoyed learning to cook Thai food which is one of my favorite food. Staff were friendly and the food was great. The class is a bit pricey but totally worth the money.

  5. We were showed how to make 4 classic Thai dishes, one was a coconut milk soup, that I look forward to making again when I am back home. The cooking school has first class equipment and Paul the Chef was fun plus also informative. It was fairly costly, but as the saying goes “you get what you pay for”, we thought it was well worth the money and we had a superb time. To be fair it is not that costly when we consider we ate what we cooked, so did not go out to eat that evening.

  6. I would highly recommend this place, really professional setup, this is the 5-star of cooking schools. We did the morning Saturday class which was amazing. The staff knew what they were doing. They teach you very easily how to make these Thai dishes. Overall, it was a great experience.

  7. The Blue Elephant really hold an excellent cooking class. We got to make loads of different dishes and of course eat them after. The instructors took the time to explain and show how to do everything properly. It being a small class helped. It costs a bit more than the other cooking schools but I think it was definitely worth the extra.

  8. It was a great experience, cooking class was amazing. The teacher was very lovely and I have a chance to cook the dishes myself the staff is attentive and the presentation is wonderful. We were have very good memories of our trip.

  9. Found this one to be a long but interesting day learning the tips and tricks of cooking Thai food. I would recommended do this tour early in your visit as than you will get a feel for name tastes and flavors to order as you move around island for rest of you stay worthwhile eat before tour though so you are relaxed.

  10. My daughter and I signed up for the cooking class at the Blue Elephant during our holiday in Phuket. The class began with a trip to the market where we were introduced to all the fresh ingredients used to prepare Thai dishes, and then back at the cooking school we watched the chef demonstrate how to cook each dish. We got to try some and then we made our own.

All the staff were very friendly and the facilities were great. The building itself, a large colonial style mansion, was simply stunning and very well restored. A highly recommended activity if you want to learn Thai cooking!
