The nightlife in Kamala is subdued when compared to Patong and areas to the south but there is still plenty to do with some superb restaurants to dine in, both inside and outside of the hotels.
There are a handful of beer bars and sports bars on the main road, with many clustered near the traffic lights, as well as some larger sports bars with pool tables and live sports on large screen TVs. There are also a smattering of bars on the “beach road”, which actually runs a little inland.
In the high season, which runs from around November to April, you can find plenty of little beach bars along the beach with bamboo chairs or straw mats for seating. These offer a more chilled out beach vibe that is not easy to find elsewhere on the island. The more established bars such as Skyla Bar and Smile Bar are open year round and can get a bit lively on weekends.
