A 3 star resort pretending to be a 4 star... Overpriced in terms of accommodation, food and especially service, but with an excellent location for a peaceful holiday.

Overview

In a secluded, peaceful setting, positioned between Phuket and Krabi on the pristine beach in the southwest part of Koh Yao Yai, is where the tropical beachfront boutique Elixir Resort can be found. It is just a short distance from Ao Bo Le and the ferry pier to Phuket. Guests can access this resort by take a 60 minute ferry boat from Jian Vanich Pier or Bang Rong Pier in Phuket to Loh Jak Pier of Koh Yao Yai then taking a 10 minute car ride to the resort lobby. For those who like to be active they can use the equipment in the fitness center, go snorkeling, arrange to go on diving or swim in the beachfront outdoor swimming pool, that overlooks the ocean. The spa that is set in a tropical plant and tree garden offers a full range of massages and beauty treatments. Accomodation consists of private villas, the smallest being a spacious 44 sqm and the largest being over 180 sqm. They are all beautifully decorated with natural materials and have wooden ceilings and all come with semi outdoor, yet private bathrooms.

Activities, food, taxis etc are much more expensive than normal prices, an not even better. You should for instance rent motorbike just outside the resort, on the left, its twice cheaper!

Rent a motorbike at the resort. It's very cheap and it will get you to the best beaches on the island: Lo Paa Raet and Tiikut, where you'd be most probably all alone.
