Introduction to Cha Am

Located in Petchaburi province in central Thailand, Cha Am is beach resort boasting a 5-kilometer long stretch of golden sand along the Gulf of Thailand. The area is popular with holidaymakers from Bangkok who come here for the weekends and during festival periods when the hotels can get quite busy. During the week the town is very quiet, which is ideal if you have to come to just relax by the sea. Those seeking entertainment and nightlife should head to Hua Hin, which is just twenty kilometers south over the border of Prachuap Khiri Khan province. What Cha Am does offer is a peaceful and laid back atmosphere that is not always easy to find in the country’s other popular beach resorts. Although popular with foreign tourists, Cha Am has managed to retain its authenticity, and this is the key to its charm. Besides the beach there are plenty of activities to keep you occupied such as golf, bicycle tours through the countryside, ATV tours, and Black Mountain Waterpark, which has plenty of slides as well as a cable-ski lake.
