Introduction to San Pee Sua

Sited to the northeast of Chiang Mai city center, San Pee Sua is a small sub-district in Amphur Muang, only 5 km from the downtown area. On its eastern border lies the Ping River where some accommodation can be found. Most of them are boutique style resorts which are perfect for people who want to escape from hectic modern life. Along the riverbank are many fine restaurants that offer both Thai and international cuisine for all tastes. Within a 5 minute drive is the 700th Year Anniversary Stadium, which is a 25,000-seater multi-purpose sports stadium. The 27-hole Lanna Golf Course is also around the same driving distance and is part of a sports complex that offers many sport facilities, including a shooting range, horse riding, swimming pool, tennis courts, sauna and fitness center. To visit the old city and its historic temples is easy by tuk tuk or red songthaews, while Chiang Mai International Airport is only a 20-minute ride away.
