Introduction to Sansai

The city's third largest district in terms of population, Sansai is found in the northeast of Chiang Mai's metropolitan area. It is a 15 minute drive from the city center, and has grown rapidly to become an important suburb with a growing number of tourist and deluxe class hotels. Saisan is also the location of Maejo University and although not an area on the tourist trail, there are some points of interest for tourist to visit such as the Huay Paplu Waterfall which is located at Ban San Hok Fah. Another attraction is Huay Jo Reservoir where visitors can enjoy fishing, bird watching and jungle trekking. Other activities include visiting Maejo Farm, which breeds deer and Braman cows. And if you visit Wiwekwanaram Temple, try the famous traditional Thai massage.
