Introduction to Rim Kok

One of the most important rivers in the northern part of Thailand is the Kok River. Its source is found in the mountain ranges of Dan Lao and Pee Pan Nam in Chiang Tung Province of Myanmar, and flows into Thailand at Mae Ai district in Chiang Mai, passes through Chiang Rai City, then flows into the Mekong River at Sop Kok district at Chiang Saen. The area of Rim Kok district is situated in the northern part of Chiang Rai City, along the Kok River around 28 km to the northeast of town. Here you will find a variety accommodation from budget to lavish resorts in downtown Rim Kok. Within a 10 minute drive from downtown Rim Kok you can reach Chiang Rai International Airport, the Mae Kok Golf Club as well as the Chiang Rai City. Driving up about a 25 minute along Phahon Yothin Road and turn left at the route 1514, you will reach the lush green forests of Lam Nam Kok National Park.
