Introduction to Khao Lak Beach

Khao Lak is one of the most well known beach destinations of southern Thailand. It formally belongs to Phang Nga Province and can be reached by about an hour drive up north of Phuket International Airport. There are a variety of attractions including a national park, waterfalls and especially quieter and more pristine beaches. Although the long straight stretch sandy beaches here are not right alongside the main road, they are all parallel to it and have easy access by small streets. On the way driving from Phuket, the first beach that can be found is tranquil Khao Lak Beach where are located some good budget and also luxury resorts. Khao Lak – Lam Ru National Park with its jungle trekking path leading to a stunning viewpoint is just 5 minutes drive uphill from the stated beach. More beaches can be accessed by less than 10 minutes by car while eating and shopping spots are available in the town center area of Khao Lak.
