Introduction to Phra Ae Beach

The longest beach on Lanta Yai Island is Phra Ae or Long Beach which is situated 5 km from Saladan Market and around 15 minutes drive southwards from Klongdao Beach. Guests can park their car at Had Phra Ae Public Park where they can picnic or find some simple Thai food restaurants or just stroll along the shoreline for relaxation. The coconut and pine trees are spread out along the beachfront area, offering leafy canopy with a lot of shade for sitting and lying under. Although the sea level is not as shallow as at its sister Klong Dao Beach, it comes with a safe swimming zone and a wonderful snorkeling spot at the south end of the bay. There are no motorized watersports to disturb visitors of this 4 km long beach, thus it is one of the quiet beaches of the island. Many Isaan and international food restaurants can be found along the back road while most of accommodation are sited at the northern and southern tip of the beach. They vary from mid-range, family-run resorts to deluxe class residences.
