Introduction to Laem Yai

Laem Yai is a headland on the secluded northwestern tip of Koh Samui and there is a small beach there. It is just a 5 minute taxi drive from the main ferry pier and town center of Nathon and this is the nearest eating and shopping spot for those who stay at Laem Yai Beach. There are only several lavish resorts on this tranquil beach and it seems that all of them are 4-5 star ones. This area is not right close to any eateries, entertainments or shopping spots, instead it takes travelers at least 10 minutes to get to the nearest town or shopping zone. Those who really love tranquility and privacy, this location is what they are looking for. Hiring a motorbike or car is recommended for the most convenient journey. Some attractions that can be easily reached are several viewpoints, 2 waterfalls and Paradise Park Farm where can be seen plenty of birds such as macaw, cockatoo, parrot, pheasant, peacock, hornbill and also other rare animals like African pygmy hedgehog and iguana. Laem Yai is approximately 25 minutes by car from Koh Samui Airport.
