Introduction to Sai Ree Beach

Sai Ree Beach is the major beach, which has the longest coastline on Koh Tao or Turtle Island, the sub-district of Koh Pha Ngan District in Surat Thani Province. This 2 km stretch of golden sandy bay shore is located at the western part of the island, only 10 minutes stroll or a short Songthaew ride from the main pier at Mae Haad Beach. Seating right on the beach, you can view the stunning sunset with the background of the nearby Nang Yuan Island. The facilities are plentiful for traveling and entertainment, especially at the southern tip of the bay where several bars and restaurants can be found. The accommodation at the northern part is recommended for more peaceful relaxation. Guests will be well catered at the boutique style cottages and villas that some are on the hilltop to offer panoramic seaview. At the southern end of the bay are Jor Por Ror Rock and the small Fishery Museum. [158]
