Krabi is located on the western coast of southern Thailand, 814 km from Bangkok and are linked together by Thailand Route 4. Getting there by air is only 1.20 hour, while the bus from the new Bangkok Southern Bus Terminal will take 11-12 hours. The major hubs of transportation are in front of Vougue Department Store and on Utarakit Road, where the travelers can catch Songthaew or minibus to the other districts. The majority of accommodations in Krabi Town are mid-range hotels that are suitable for stopover before heading to the other top destinations such as Ao Nang, Phi Phi Island and Lanta Island. At Krabi River that runs through the town is Khao Kanab Nam, the symbolic attraction which is reachable by 15 minutes long tail boat ride. The travelers can also sightsee the lush mangrove forest and try local food at the stalls along the promenade close to the pier. Only 3 km from Krabi Town is Wat Tham Sua or Tiger Cave Temple that the visitors should climb 1237 steps to the hilltop to see the Buddha’s footprint and panoramic view of rock formation and surrounding islets.
