Introduction to Phu Rua

Phu Rua is one of the top destinations for Thai people who seek and love cool air. The town itself is not as popular as its national park whose the highest area is around 1,365 metres above sea level. This is known as the coldest spot of Thailand and Thai tourists will flock to here every year especially during December until the end of January. Although the road to hilltop of Phu Rua is not very steep, it has many multi sharp curves, so the drivers must be very careful when driving up there. Getting here from Loei city center by own vehicle is easy by taking the highway route number 203 along which Ban Nong Bong flower market which normally attracts those who love plants and flowers can be found. Several resorts and bungalows ranging from mid range onwards are available around the town center and along the road leading to the hilltop of the national park.
