Introduction to Nakhon Nayok

Nakhon Nayok is a province in central Thailand located about 100 miles east of Bangkok. The provincial capital, Nakhon Nayok, is a quiet city nestled amidst the plains and foothills of central Thailand. Founded during the Dvaravati period over 800 years ago, ruins of the ancient city can still be seen at Mueang Boran Dong Lakhon located southeast of the modern town. The province is predominantly known for its amazing waterfalls and the wide variety of fruits. One of the must-see attractions is Sarika Waterfall in Khao Yai National Park. To enjoy Nakhon Nayok at its best you should avoid the dry season since the waterfalls are not at their best and some waterfalls can actually dry up, especially during March and April. Nakhon Nayok is also known for a multitude of festivals and if you are travelling during February to April or during October then you can witness quite a few.
