Introduction to Jomtien Beach

Situated on the eastern coast of the Gulf of Thailand, about 4 km south of Pattaya bay is very long Jomtien Beach. It is approximately 165 km from Bangkok and is easily accessible by only 15 minutes Songthaew ride from South Pattaya. The 6 km long straight beach is the paradise for young, enthusiastic travelers as there are a wide range of sea sport activities, namely scuba diving, paragliding, jet-skiing and windsurfing. Jomtien is also the main residential area that is home to the high-rise condominiums, many housing projects, beach hotels and also bungalows. At the southern tip of the beach are located the upmarket marina and top class resorts. The road running parallel to the beach is dominated by a myriad of seafood and international restaurants. You can hire a deck chair and umbrella on the beach to lie down with light sea breeze, while waiting to admire stunning sunset. Newcomers to this area are recommended to local cultural site of Pattaya Floating Market, which is 2.5 km from South Pattaya.
