Introduction to Khao Kho

Khao Kho is the most visited district of Petchabun Province, in lower northern Thailand. It is 47 km from town centre and can be reached by 4-5 hours car ride from Bangkok. In the past decade, the precinct served the military stronghold against communists, but today it is the appeals for holiday destination. The mountain range and alpine terrain allow the chilly climate throughout the year. There are a handful of boutique style resorts along the hillside from which visitors can enjoy relaxing views of foggy sea in the early morning right from their room balcony. You can hire a Songthaew or local taxi for a day trip or use a private car to get to these major spots either is recommended. People who like agricultural tour should visit B.N. Farm that is well known for its cultivation of cold weather flowers and vegetables. Sitting atop Khao Ya, the highest hill of Khao Kho is Khao Kho Palace, which is the royal residence, surrounded by the well maintained flower gardens.
