The largest district of Phetchaburi Province is Kaeng Krachan which is located in the west and is next to the border of Myanmar. It is well known for the biggest national park of Thailand, Kaeng Krachan National Park that is a verdant forest mountains which are the watersheds of Phetchaburi and Pranburi Rivers. In addition, it is a habitat of the diverse collection of trees, mammals and bird species. 3 hours bus ride from Bangkok will drop you at Thayang, then you can catch Songthaew to Kaeng Krachan Market, where you can hire a taxi to the national park office, which is 4 km away. The earth dam is excellent spot for sightseeing boat trip into the dam. Panoen Thung Peak features a very good camping ground at its atop Savannah grassland and evergreen forest, and there are many interesting hiking trails which challenge every nature lover to explore. There are a lot of opportunities of bird watching, butterfly photographing and learning about many more wildlife.
