Introduction to Thayang

Thayang is located in the eastern side of Phetchaburi Province and is about 17 km from the city center. Driving distance from Bangkok is 134 km which is around 3 hours by car. The Phetchaburi River flows through this district and into the Gulf of Thailand. Most accommodation that is found here consists of guesthouses and small hotels situated close to the riverbank and the beach. About 22 km or 45 minutes by Songthaew from Amphur Muang is Puek Tian Beach, a long sandy beach which is very popular for locals who come here for their weekend family picnic. You can enjoy seafood at a number of restaurants, try horse riding on the beach and take a photo of sculptures of the characters from the famous Thai literature, standing on a manmade hill slightly offshore. One of the very interesting spots for families or those who like rural life, Taynumkhamphop floating market is the place where they should visit while in Thayang and hire a local rowboat taxi for sightseeing.
