Introduction to Sam Roi Yot

Positioned in the northern part of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, Sam Roi Yot Sub-district is only about 3 hours drive from Bangkok. This attraction is a very popular weekend or holiday destination of those wishing to escape from city area and traffic. Although the driving distance allows for one day trip, it is better to stay overnight in order spend more time to explore around. Holidaymakers are able to select one of the simple standard inexpensive bungalows or of the luxury resorts that are mainly found close to the beach area. Sam Roi Yot is well known for its famous Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, which covers over 90 sq.km area of coastal limestone hills, caves, beaches and freshwater marshland. About 500 meters from the national park office is Khao Daeng Viewpoint, which offer stunning sunrise view. Before sunset, walking along long wooden pathway at the large lotus marsh is something relaxing and enjoyable. The other highly recommended attraction is long tail boat riding along 4 km long canal of Klong Khao Dang and it will take around 1.30 hour for the whole trip. The picture-postcard landmark of this area is Phraya Nakhon Cave, which can be reached by walking uphill about half a kilometer.
