Introduction to Trang

Located along Thailand's Andaman Sea coast just south of Phuket and Krabi, Trang is blessed with the same natural beauty as its more well-known neighbours but has managed to remain relatively pristine and undeveloped. This is largely due to the fact that almost two-thirds of Trang has been designated as a national park land. The interior is mostly jungle-covered hills while the coastline boasts palm-fringed beaches and around 46 islands just a short distance from the mainland. The largest islands include Koh Muk, Koh Kradan, and Koh Libong, which boast stunning beaches, excellent diving and snorkelling spots, idyllic beach bungalows and a chilled out island vibe that is ideal for relaxing and getting away from it all. The main islands in Trang are serviced by ferries from the piers at Pakmeng and Kantang, or you can charter your own longtail boat to get to the smaller islands.
