Wine is a little on the expensive side in Thailand due to the high import duties. In recent years the duty rate has fluctuated slightly, though it’s still fairly high compared to the prices in Europe or Australia. Nevertheless, there are usually special offers available which make prices more reasonable.
You might also be tempted to try Thailand’s own Chateau de Loei, which is produced in Isaan in the northeast of the country. The red syrah (shiraz) is surprisingly pleasant.
