Wine is a little on the expensive side in Thailand due to the high import duties. In recent years the duty rate has fluctuated slightly, though it's still a bit on the high side. The same bottle here might be a third more than in the UK, for example. Nevertheless, there are occasional special offers which make prices more reasonable.
You might also be tempted to try Thailand's own Chateau de Loei, which is produced in Isaan, in the northeast of the country. The red syrah (shiraz) is surprisingly pleasant.
