Phuket Butterfly Garden & Insect World

A fascinating place to visit, the Phuket Butterfly Garden and Insect World is both an entertaining and educational experience for visitors of all ages.

There are more than 40 species of butterflies fluttering freely throughout the colourful tropical garden under a large dome. You can see various stages of the butterfly life cycle in action, from live eggs, larvae, pupae and mating butterflies. You can also learn about the breeding techniques used by the butterfly garden and may even see a butterfly hatching.

There is also an insectarium which has some interesting displays of bugs and creepy-crawlies. Some of the larger insects and spiders will send a shiver down your spine.

The garden itself is one of most lush and beautiful in Phuket. The atmosphere is kept artificially moist using a humidifier and feels like walking through a tropical rainforest. Streams and ponds provide a home for a large collection of fish such as koi carp and rare shell-less turtles.

The Butterfly Garden and Insect World is located in Sam Kong, at the northwest edge of Phuket City not far from Tesco Lotus shopping centre.
