Laguna Phuket Golf Club

Formally known as the Banyan Tree Golf Course and based in the grounds around several of the Laguna hotels the Laguna Phuket Golf course is a particular favourite of golfing holiday makers to Phuket.

This 6,654 yard par 71 course is not particularly challenging if you hit straight but the narrow fairways, water hazards and sand traps mean you can quickly add to your score if you go wayward.

The most memorable hole for many is the par 4 9th, right in front of the club house where an accurate shot over trees allows for a layup before pitching on to a small island green that is surrounded by water on all sides. Accurate chipping and putting are required or a 4 can quickly become an 8.

The 17th hole is one of the longest in Thailand at 612 yards and it is impossible to reach the green in 2 even for the longest of hitters. Good club selection and accuracy are required here as water runs almost the entire length of the hole, alternating from side to side.
