Regattas & Sailing Events in Phuket

Phuket is unique in Thailand as being the only location in the country to host multiple regattas. In addition to the local regattas organized by the island’s yacht clubs Phuket is home to 4 internationally recognized regattas that draw in participants from all around the world. Its tranquil waters with steady winds in the high season are in great contrast to the monsoon winds that make the Multi Hull Regatta and Phuket Race Week in July such a challenge.

A large base of yacht charter companies in Phuket means that there are plenty of opportunities for crews of various levels of experience to charter boats to compete in the regattas, some of which have a very good chance of appearing on the podium and even winning their class.

Phuket also hosts an annual Boat show, usually in March, known as the Phuket Boat Show, or PIMEX and Asia’s first Superyacht Rendezvous.
