Phuket Multihull Regatta

Phuket’s Multihull Regatta was founded in 2008 and at the time was the only regatta in Asia dedicated to multi-hull boats, excluding beach catamarans, that offered boats in the region an opportunity to race against each other on courses that were designed for multi-hull boats.

Organized by the Ao Chalong Yacht Club the event normally takes place a week before Phuket Raceweek offering serious multi-hull racing over a 2 week period.

Set in the waters around Chalong Bay at the start of the Monsoon season the wind conditions can vary greatly and offer a test to crew’s sailing ability should a sudden squall come through.

There are a number of multi-hull boats available for charter and the number of entrants in the cruising catamaran class is increasing each year. The event also offers the locally built Fireflies an opportunity to really show off in waters and wind conditions for which they were built.
