Phuket Raceweek

The annual Phuket Raceweek presents a full week of international-standard yacht racing of Phuket’s east coast for a wide range of yachts and is a popular venue for many of the serious racers around Asia. Often known as the “friendly regatta” it is large enough for serious racing in a range of different classes in the fleet and yet small enough for everyone to know each other.

The regatta has been organized by the owners Image Asia since its inception in 2004 hosting it at the Evason resort until 2012 when it moved to its current venue and title sponsor, the Cape Panwa Hotel.

Voted Asia’s best regatta in 2011, Phuket Raceweek is a combination of exciting racing in a range of wind and sea conditions combined with lively parties each night for the participants.

As with the other Phuket regattas, Phuket Raceweek offers experienced sailors an opportunity to charter a boat locally and participate in a regatta racing against people of similar skill. Many crews use this as an opportunity to see how much they enjoy regatta racing or to test out a particular style of boat before purchasing.
