Sailing in Krabi Bay
Krabi Bay is famous for its beautiful beaches and stunning limestone sea mountains protruding out of the sea, a geographic extension of the mountains in Phang Nga Bay. During the southeast monsoon anchorage is not advised because it is unprotected. However, anchorages are protected during the northeast monsoon.
Laem Phra Nang
Better known as Railay, Laem Phra Nang lies in one of the most beautiful bays in the world. In the centre of the bay several moorings are provided but if there are none available, anchorage should be well offshore in 4-5 metres on sand in the centre of the bay. Some bungalows and several restaurants fringe the beach. Set back from the beach, some comfortable private houses can be rented on a daily basis. At low tide on the headland several caves can be explored. At the southern end of the beach there is a reef that is perfect for snorkeling.
